Get your gymnastics club ready for back to school

Back to School is always a busy time for parents and your existing and upcoming gymnasts. New schools, teachers, friends, parents, and new coaches all add to the excitement of starting a new school year.

As a gymnastics club owner, don’t miss out on the new opportunities back to school brings. Use the start of a new school year as an opportunity to launch new campaigns, promotions, and outreach for your gymnastics club!

Here are some ideas to jumpstart your back-to-school prep.

Your Gymnastics Club’s Outreach to PTAs

When the fall rolls around for that back-to-school rush, it’s always a good idea to re-introduce your gymnastics club to the PTAs in your community, especially since parents tend to be the most focused on their children during back-to-school season.

Connecting with PTAs allows you to network and learn their upcoming schedule for the school year and get involved with events for sponsorship opportunities and new gymnastics marketing efforts. Be sure to bring all your promotional materials to hand out to other parents and teachers in the school.

Coordinating Your Gymnastics Club Events with Afterschool Programs

Back-to-school brings all sorts of new opportunities for your gymnastics club, so ensuring all business and class registration systems and calendars are updated and correctly in place is critical.

Before school begins, inform yourself about what other afterschool programs are going on throughout the community to see if you can fill in gaps for students to add to their routine.

Offer some new activities other clubs or organizations might not be doing, such as parkour or themed stunt activities.

Coordinating afterschool programs with various new and fun activities can be difficult, but allows for a great sense of structure and routine for existing and new members from the transition between summer and daily school activities.

Changes in your Gymnastics Club and School Schedules

Keep your gymnastics club prepared by openly communicating with parents about any upcoming class schedule or event changes. Check-in with your members on the first day of school to gain awareness of your gymnasts’ new class schedule, as you may need to adjust certain classes if there isn’t enough demand for certain periods or age groups.

It’s also important to know about important school event dates, especially dances, large fundraising events, or large sporting events that may prevent attendance for certain members.

Try to stay flexible with your schedules as much as possible, as keeping a flexible schedule can be useful for your parent and school contacts when needing to fill time gaps for their children!

Back-To-School Gymnastic Club Discounts

The back-to-school season is an excellent time to put larger efforts into your gymnastics marketing strategy.

Going into the new school year looks a little different for everyone, however, a great rule of thumb to engage new members is hosting a fall registration signup event with the opportunity to win free classes or offering discounted gymnastics membership rates.

If you are unable to hold a large signup event, you can also insert business cards, flyers, or your gymnastic club catalog into return-to-school info packets that parents tend to get during school orientations. Be sure to promote on your social media pages any back-to-school discounts you may be offering and see if there is any opportunity to cross-promote with other local businesses.

There are many ways that your gymnastics club can benefit from increased interest and support during the back-to-school season. The best part is, that getting involved in back-to-school efforts is fairly simple, and can be done while remaining focused on your goals as a gymnastics club owner.
